Sturdy metal waste bin covered in fine quality jacquard loom woven tapestry fabric featuring the Compton design by John Henry Dearle for Morris & Co.
Measures approximately 30.5 cm high x 20 cm in diameter. Weighs just over 1 kg.
Tapestry fabric is woven in Flanders by master weavers and the bin is Made in England.
Could be used in a home office, bathroom, study or bedroom.
Compton was designed by John Henry Dearle for Morris & Co. in 1896. Upon Morris's death in 1896 Dearle was appointed Head Designer at Morris & Co. Compton was designed for work undertaken by Morris & Co. at Compton Hall in Wolverhampton.
