Designed by William Morris in 1864, Daisy was the first wallpaper pattern put into production and the second designed by Morris. The imagery consists of a repeating pattern of small flowering plants of daisies and columbines. The design was influenced by medieval sources including "millefleurs" tapestries ('a thousand flowers'), early printed books about herbal plants and a textile seen in an illuminated copy of Froissart's "Chronicles."
