Pair of William Morris Forest Hare & Fox Tapestry Cushions 18"

Pair of fine quality cotton jacquard woven tapestry cushions with beige velvet back featuring the Hare and the Fox from The Forest tapestry designed by William Morris. Cushions have a concealed zip fastener and removable duck feather pads.

Woven in Flanders by master weavers with the cushions Made in England. Cushions measures 46cm x 46 cm (18" x 18").

The mischievous Hare features on The Forest Tapestry designed by William Morris in 1887 at Merton Abbey and woven by Morris & Co's three most senior weavers. The Forest depicts scrolling acanthus leaves, a lion, peacock, hare and fox amongst wildflowers and was one of Morris & Co's finest tapestries.
