The Hare features on The Forest Tapestry designed by William Morris in 1887 at Merton Abbey and woven by Morris & Co's three most senior weavers. The Forest depicts scrolling acanthus leaves a hare, lion, peacock and fox amongst wild flowers and was one of Morris & Co's finest tapestries. The Forest tapestry resides at the V & A Museum in London and the sketch of the Hare - drawn by architect Philip Webb - lives at Wightwick Manor in Wolverhampton. Wightwick features many interiors designed by Morris and Co.
We also sell a tapestry cushion featuring this Hare design and a tapestry wall hanging of The Forest.
Marigold was designed by William Morris in 1875 as a wallpaper and fabric.
