Fine quality cotton jacquard woven tapestry cushion with pale beige velvet back featuring the Fox from The Forest tapestry designed by William Morris. cushion measures 46 cm x 46 cm (18" x 18"). Has a concealed zip fastener and removable duck feather pad.
Woven in Flanders by master weavers with the cushion Made in England. Weighs approximately 1.1 kg.
The crafty Fox features on The Forest Tapestry designed by William Morris in 1887 at Merton Abbey and woven by Morris & Co's three most senior weavers. The Forest depicts scrolling acanthus leaves, a lion, peacock, hare and fox amongst wildflowers and was one of Morris & Co's finest tapestries.
