Pair of William Morris Bird Cushions
Pair of fine quality cotton jacquard woven tapestry cushions with burgundy chenille back adapted from William Morris's Bird design - facing left and facing right. Has a concealed zip fastener and removable feather pad. These cushions measures 34 cm x 34 cm (13" x 13").
Bird was designed as a textile furnishing fabric by William Morris between 1877-1888 and woven in his workshop at Merton Abbey in Surrey. Morris hung this fabric in the Drawing Room of his home Kelmscott House in Hammersmith.
