Golden Lily was designed by John Henry Dearle for Morris & Co. between 1880 - 1917. Dearle took over as Art Director at Morris & Co after the death of William Morris in 1896. He began his career with the company as a shop assistant at the firm's Oxford Street shop where Morris saw his potential and took him on as an apprentice.
