William Morris Compton Tapestry Waste Bin

Sturdy (just over 1 kg) metal waste bin covered in fine quality jacquard loom woven tapestry fabric in Morris's Compton design. Measures 30.5 cm high x 20 cm in diameter. Made in England.

Compton was designed by John Henry Dearle for Morris & Co. in 1896 the year of William Morris's death. Upon Morris's death Dearle was appointed Head Designer at Morris & Co. Compton was designed for work undertaken by Morris & Co. at Compton Hall Wolverhampton.
