Beautiful lampshade covered in fine quality jacquard loom woven tapestry fabric featuring a blue colourway of the Strawberry Thief design by William Morris.

Measures 40 cm (diameter) x 21 cm (high)

Shade will work for a ceiling pendant lamp. Fixture comes with a white plastic ring which allows you to convert an ES fitting shade to BC.

Maximum 60 watt bulb recommended.

Made in England. We also sell this design in a smaller shade of 30 cm x 21 cm suitable as a table or pendant lamp, a waste bin, cushion and footstool.

Strawberry Thief was designed by William Morris in 1883 with birds drawn by his architect friend Philip Webb. The design was inspired by the Morris family efforts to grow strawberries at their home Kelmscott Manor in the Cotswolds. The family were thwarted by thrushes who would creep under the netting and eat the fruit. Morris insisted that the birds be left undisturbed.
